TAIPEI (Dow Jones)--Corning Inc. (GLW) said Wednesday its glass-making operations in Japan are running normally and there were no injuries or damages at its facilities in Shizuoka prefecture as a result of the earthquake Tuesday.

The maker of glass used in liquid crystal display screens for televisions, smartphones and tablet computers said it has glass-making facilities in Shizuoka and Sakai city, Japan.

"To date, the company has not experienced any power outages, nor has it received notification of any power allocations," Corning said in a statement.
