Safelite has laid off some technicians throughout the country due to a lower demand for auto glass work in the winter months, according to company spokesperson Melina Metzger. The number of technicians affected has not been announced.
“As work demand fluctuates seasonally, we have had to respond by laying off some technicians throughout the country,” says Metzger. “We expect once business rebounds to hire them back. We understand the burden this places on our people and we are analyzing ways to prevent the seasonal ups and downs from affecting staffing moving forward.”
In response to a question from AGRR™, Metzger declined to provide details on the layoff agreements.
