A world-renowned glass blower - who counts the likes of Robert De Niro, Bill Cosby and Prince Albert II of Monaco amongst his esteemed clients - has opened a new factory in Ras Al Khaimah.

HH Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah toured glass artist Jean Claude Novaro’s new Emirati facility and unveiled a special painting commemorating the event.

Novaro has also signed an agreement to design an exclusive range of tiles for RAK Ceramics, the world's largest ceramic tiles and bath ware manufacturing company.

“The inauguration of Jean Claude Novaro’s new workshop in Ras Al Khaimah underlines the strategic advantages of the Emirate as an ideal business base for companies seeking to expand in the MENA region,” said Dr. Khater Massaad, CEO of RAK Ceramics.

Novaro is widely acclaimed as the ‘King of Glass’ – and also includes the likes of Mike Tyson and Sheikh Tariq Al Qassimi amongst his customers.

Novaro has also earned a spot in the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest hand blown coupe ever made.

“RAK Ceramics, in particular, is excited with the opening of the new facility as it gives us direct access to such world-class expertise and unrivalled artistic genius that enhances our ability to create more stunning and award-winning designs and models,” added Dr. Massaad.

“Moreover, Mr. Novaro’s contributions definitely add prestige and glamour to RAK Ceramics’ tile collections, reaffirming the company’s reputation as the world’s number one supplier of innovative and premium-quality ceramic tiles and bath ware.”

Novaro’s partnership with RAK Ceramics is expected to generate huge interest in the global market as the partnership unveils its first designs for RAK Ceramics’ Luminous range.

Many of the Frenchman’s creations are now being displayed in museums, galleries and private collections around the world, with his distinctive art-glass creations highly valued and sought after by art connoisseurs all over the world.
