Oldcastle Building Envelope will add 33,600 square feet to its existing facility in Creekside Industrial Park in a multi-year project that could mean up to 35 new jobs for Coweta County.

"We are certainly pleased to have the company in Coweta County and to have the opportunity to work with them as they grow their operations here," said Coweta County Development Authority President Greg Wright at the authority's Thursday board meeting.

A supplier of architectural glass and aluminum glazing systems, including custom-engineered curtain wall and window wall, architectural windows, storefront systems, doors and skylights, Oldcastle has been "part of our community since 1997," Wright said.

In other activity, two manufacturers, one looking for an existing building and one interested in a site with rail access, are listed by Wright as "new projects" for the development authority to facilitate. In January, an international company considering a Southeast location visited Newnan, and Wright says several other companies are looking at Coweta County locations.

Wright updated the board on the progress of its community branding initiative. Work is complete on a video and final edits are under way on printed materials, he said.

Travel expenses for Wright to attend the Area Development Consultants Forum and the SEDC Meet the Consultants event in Atlanta and the GEDA Spring Workshop in Brasstown Valley were also approved by the board.
