(China Glass Network) Glass cooker and tableware is common in our daily life now, however there is no consolidated standards of quality for it. China Consumers Association has held symposium to discuss security of glass cooker and tableware.
There are various kinds of glassware in the market now including that with signs of “Tempered heat-resistant glass”. Tempered glass is a type of safety glass regularly used in applications in which standard glass could pose a potential danger. Tempered glass is four to five times stronger than standard glass and does not break into large shards when broken. Tempered glass is manufactured through a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling, making it harder than normal glass. Essentially Speaking, tempered glass can’t be consisted in heat-resistant glass. Members of China Consumers Association suggested that consumers not to put tempered glassware into the equipments with temperature above 100 degree as microwave oven and roaster.
