Smart Products Cut Costs and Increase Efficiency

Auburn Hills, Mich. (October 30, 2012) – Facility managers seeking glass products that are beautiful, durable and low maintenance will find them on display at Guardian Industries Booth No. 735, at the IFMA World Workplace Conference and Expo 2012, Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, in San Antonio, Texas.

Guardian will present DiamondGuard – glass that is 10 times more scratch resistant than standard glass. Guardian DiamondGuard’s highly transparent quality combined with its lasting durability make it perfect for high traffic design applications, including doors, tabletops, cabinets, shelving, furniture, wall panels, partitions and mirrors.

“Facility managers want their products to last,” said Diane Turnwall, Guardian Interiors market segment director. “DiamondGuard resists scratching from everyday contact with items such as keys, jewelry, silverware, briefcases and handbags.  Its endurance in the real world redefines the possibilities for glass.”

Guardian DiamondGuard is a durable and protective coating, permanently bonded to glass during the manufacturing process. Guardian uses a patented technology to deposit a diamond-like protective layer on the glass during the manufacturing process.

Guardian DiamondGuard demonstrates sustainability in the built environment because its longer lifecycle minimizes the need for costly replacements. Depending on the application, savings in replacement can pay for the glass in a matter of years, or in some settings, months.

Today, Guardian DiamondGuard can be found in many high-traffic areas, including hotel lobbies and bathrooms, as well as retail stores and restaurants. Two Las Vegas landmark properties recently replaced their entry doors with Guardian DiamondGuard, the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and Treasure Island Resort & Casino. In addition, the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino uses DiamondGuard for the display cases in its hotel lobby shop.

DiamondGuard is part of Guardian InGlass, a glass portfolio and online tool for architects and designers. The first of its kind in the industry, Guardian InGlass brings together Guardian’s entire interior product line to allow designers the opportunity to experience the varieties of glass in one place.

The Annual World Workplace Conference & Expo is sponsored by the International Facility Management Association. The annual conference and exposition is focused on those working in facility management and related professions.
