Permasteelisa Group has been confirmed as Gold Sponsor of the Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Conference 2013 in London.

The Conference, entitled “Height and Heritage”, will bring together the most important players from the global construction sector to discuss the vertical trend being seen in European cities over the last decade, analyzing what should be done to blend skyscrapers into both the context and period character of cities on the Old Continent. The historical heritage of European cities, their scattered growth and centuries of architecture history, imposes great limitations on new building sites, much more than seen in fast growing Asia or the Middle East or on the well-ordered North American grids.

Mr. Klaus Lother, Europe Hub CEO and Group Strategic Planner for Permasteelisa Group, will be a member of the panel discussion entitled “What Contributes Most to Sustainability in Tall Buildings?”.

The Permasteelisa Group will have a booth at the event presenting a pair of physical full-scale mock-ups of two of its latest technological developments:
- the TEC façade, an innovative translucent curtain wall composed of pulltruded composite
- the Bomb Blast Cable Net façade, a cutting edge technology that combines high transparency and high energy dissipation, able to both achieve great architecture and preserve occupant safety.

As Gold Sponsor, Permasteelisa Group will support the design research project organized by the CTBUH with architecture students from the Illinois Institute of Technology; the project will be based on a real tall building project at a site somewhere around the world. Permasteelisa is proud to help train the young architects who will shape the cities of the future.
