0-I BJC – a joint venture company of Owens-IIlnois (USA), Berli Jucker Public Company (BJC, Thailand) and Saigon Beer Alcohol Beverage Company (SABECO, Vietnam), on February 6, officially opened its most state – of – the art glass container manufacturing plant in My Xuan A Industrial Park, Ba Ria Vung Tau province.
The new US$47 million factory is located around 60 kilometres to the south east of Ho Chi Minh City, producing approximately 75,000 tonnes annually of returnable premium glass containers for Vietnam’s beer, soft drink, food, wine, spirits and pharmaceutical markets. The new facility has one furnace, three glass-making lines and two applied ceramic labeling printing lines, creating 450 jobs for local community. It has the capacity to adapt to market trends, extending to 4 lines with an annual production capacity of 84,000 tonnes of glass.
O-I BJC’s new plant in Ba Ria Vung Tau will replace its existing facility in District 4, HCM City. The move was vacated by O-I BJC to facilitate the city’s urban development plans. This new plant will provide the latest technology to serve Vietnamese food and beverage industries.
