In July, the overall output of flat glass in China was 318 million weight cases, up 10.3%, and grew 6.9 percentages slower than in the same period of last year and 1.9 percentages slower than during January-June. The output of flat glass in July fell by 10% from June.

Since the prices of soda ash and heavy oil, the main raw materials of glass, still keeps high, a large fluctuation unlikely takes place in the future. Therefore, glass enterprises are still affected by the high production cost. Because the downstream demand for flat glass focuses on buildings, the real estate industry is most greatly impacted. There will be a lot of problems on the glass industry in the next half of the year.
