AGC Opens Silicon Valley Office as 'Strategic Scout' for New Technologies

AGC Groupopened a four-person office in Silicon Valley last week to act as a strategic scout for new and innovative technologies to buy, as well as for companies that need AGC's technical expertise, according to a May 24 Silicon Valley Business Journal report. Yoshiaki Tamura, AGC's chief director of technology, told the journal that the glass manufacturer is looking for technologies related to displays for green building materials, electronic devices, photovoltaics, fiber optics and biotechnology.
