Soda ash market in North China is depressed

Impacted by the low price of sources in Henan, Inner Mongolia and Qinghai and the low demand for downstream products, the soda ash market in North China tends to be depressed.

So far, price of light alkali in Hebei area declines by about 50 yuan/ton, and the major cost price ranges from 1,850-1,900 yuan/ton; although price of soda ash in Shandong gets down slightly, the goods is delivered much slower mainly for the unbalanced supply and demand and the downstream enterprises running under capacity operation. The cost price of light alkali in Shandong is 2,000-2,050 yuan/ton and heavy alkali 2,100-2,200 yuan/ton. It is expected that the after-market price will be further lowered.
