Quartz glass in the Shenzhou VII spacecraft

Far infrared optical quartz glass, produced by Tonghe Baotong Quartz Product Development Co., Ltd., has been applied in the Shenzhou VII spacecraft.

At the end of 2006, PLA General Armaments Department sent experts to make a research on the far infrared optical quartz glass. The glass smoothly passed the examination.

On April 2007, the far infrared optical quartz glass was chosen for the manned space flight project. After receiving the task, Tonghe Baotong Quartz Product Development Co., Ltd. strictly checked every process to assure of high quality. Fortunately, products passed all the tests and reached the requirements.
