Winner of the 2011 Crystal Achievement Award for "Most Innovative Nonresidential Retrofit Project," the101 North Wacker Drive Building in Chicago's central business district was also recently named Office Building of the Year in the Renovated Building category of the TOBY Awards, sponsored by theBuilding Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International.
The building underwent an extensive renovation, in which Curtainwall Services Inc., Elmhurst, Ill., replaced interior drywall finishes and monolithic spandrel glass panels with matchinginsulating glass units, thereby converting the somewhat dated interior to true floor-to-ceiling glazing.
