A Slowdown in demand for automotive glass

In 2007, 8,882,000 automotives were made in China during the whole year, up 22% year-on-year. From January to May of 2008, 4,484,000 automotives have been made, increasing by 18.1%, while the increase rate falls about 4 percentage points.

In addition to the impact of snowstorm, the growing oil price is another important reason that lowers the buying. The slowdown in output of automotives directly leads to the low demand for automotive glass in China, and because of weak economy in the USA, the overseas market is also depressed.
