The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey approved the redesigned plan for the 185-foot-tall glass podium at One World Trade Center, according to a Nov. 16 article from Empire State News. Permasteelisa North America was awarded the contract for the $37.2 million projectto engineer, fabricate and install the new panelized fa?ade, which will consist of stainless steel slat panels around the building’s concrete base covered with glass fins, according to the article.

Empire State News reports the installation of the redesigned fa?ade system will begin in 2013 and will keep pace with the scheduled completion of the tower by the end of that year.
