Edgetech I.G. receives Ohio Exporter of the Year Award

Edgetech I.G., Cambridge, Ohio,received the Exporter of the Year Award, Medium Business, at the Governor’s Excellence in Exporting Awards Ceremony, Sept. 22, in Columbus, Ohio, according to a Sept. 23 release. Edgetech’s President, Mike Hovan, accepted the award on behalf of the company. This is Edgetech’s second Exporter of the Year Award.

“Over the past 10 years, Edgetech has pursued an aggressive and proactive international sales strategy that has helped us establish sales in more than 80 countries,” Hovan said in the release. “The 2010 e-Award means a lot to our entire organization because it is a testament to the hard work, dedication and progressive strategic thinking of our team. It was an honor to accept this award on behalf of the company, and I look forward to continuing Edgetech’s dedication to strengthening Ohio’s economy through exporting excellence.”

Established in 1985, e-Awards recognize Ohio companies that have increased sales volume through exports, increased Ohio-based employment as a direct result of export activity and have implemented comprehensive strategies to expand international sales.

This year’s e-Award ceremony was held in conjunction with the Third Annual Ohio Global Summit, organized by the Ohio Department of Development’s Global Market Division and the Association of Ohio Commodores. Ramsey Bader, director, international sales and marketing for Edgetech, also took part in the day’s programming by participating in a panel discussion and presenting on best practices for doing business in the Middle East.

“It was a proud day for Edgetech and a wonderful opportunity to network with Ohio’s elite class of exporters,” said Bader, who also serves on the Southern Ohio District Export Council. “There is much to be learned by discussing best practices with organizations that share our objectives.”

Ohio companies that have won an e-Award are not eligible to be nominated until four years after their last award. Edgetech got itsfirst Exporter of the Year award in 2006.
