GANA to offer Building Star briefing video

The Glass Association of North America, Topeka, Kan.,will offer video of a Building Star update briefing to be held May 24 in Washington, D.C., according to a May 21 release.Organized by the High-Performance Building Congressional Caucus Coalition, of which GANA is a member, the briefing, titled “Building Star Legislation: Retrofitting Our Way to Energy Saving and Job Creation,” features presentations by key players in the ongoing push for Congress to enact Building Star legislation.

“Building Star will provide specific rebates to spur private investment in energy saving retrofits that not only will have a direct impact getting people back to work, but will have positively affect on real estate values, energy consumption and modernize our nation’s buildings,” said Bill Yanek, GANA executive vice president, in the release. Yanek was part of a coalition that visited Congress earlier in May on Building Star legislation. “Modernization of our nation’s buildings will include several of the products manufactured and fabricated by GANA members, including high performance glazing products and curtain wall.”

Yanek and Brian Pitman, GANA director of marketing and communications, will attend the event, scheduled for 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. EDT. Coverage will begin on the new GANA: Advocacy Web site immediately before the briefing. Coverage will include live tweeting from the event, as well as a possible live video feed.

They were with us during the Capitol Hill visits a few weeks back, and we greatly appreciate their sponsorship for covering this briefing.
