Glass Mechanix, Bend, Ore., launched its new division, Surface Mechanix, which will provide residential restoration services for glass, metal, stone and other common surfaces, according to a Feb. 24 release. Surface Mechanix will provide opportunities for individuals and businesses to become affiliates in order to offer these services in their own markets. “We are the experts in glass restoration of all kinds, so incorporating services on a wider spectrum of surfaces just made sense,” said Mike Boyle, president, in the release. “We have partnered with the top commercial surface restoration company in the nation, and are drawing on their wealth of expertise to provide the best services possible. We see this as a great opportunity for our customers, and potential customers, to offer more services to their own clients.”Shawn and Mary Mart, who bring more than 40 years combined experience in the glass restoration, window and door manufacturing, and construction industries, have formed the first affiliate company for this new venture. The Marts will work closely with their customers to develop complete solutions to address damage, waste, customer returns and more. Shawn Mart also will provide surface restoration consulting services, which include traveling to the problem location, assessing the damage and what caused it, evaluating repair options and costs and providing education on quality control all along the supply chain.

In addition to running his Surface Mechanix affiliate company, Shawn Mart will provide consultation services to Glass Mechanix on surface restoration jobs, giving first-hand research back to the development team. Mary Mart also will provide customer service and sales support for Glass Mechanix glass repair, glass restoration and surface restoration clients. The earth’s environment is positively impacted by surface repair. Keeping products in place, and in circulation, rather than dumping them in landfills and using vast amounts of energy and transportation costs to produce new products is the sustainable solution, Boyle said in the release. Glass Mechanix is committed to providing and promoting services that are good for the planet. Those interested in becoming an affiliate of Surface Mechanix should call 800/826-8523.
