Kingston Windows blamed "financial and trading" challenges for its decision

Kingston Windows staff turning up for work were told to go home while customers may receive a refund or claim from the Glass and Glazing Federation.

The company blamed a "combination of financial and trading challenges."

The company's Bedfordshire outlets are in Woburn Sands, Willington, Dunstable, Millbrook, Caxton Road in Bedford and in Milton Keynes.

In a statement managing director Andrew Morley said customers could be reassured that the most recent sales deposits had not been banked and would be returned in the post.

Customers whose money has been banked would be able to make a claim to the Glass and Glazing Federation, he added.

The company employed about 20 people at its head office with another 20 staff working at its branches.
