Vistamatic, Coral Springs, Fla., has secured a contract to supply its low-maintenance vision panels for a $5 million renovation program to transform 38 surgical patient rooms into bone marrow transplant rooms due to open in February 2010 at Atlanta’s Northside Hospital, according to a Dec. 7 release.

The Blood & Marrow Transplant Program at Northside Hospital is one of the largest clinical transplant programs in the Southeast United States, according to the release. The program serves patients undergoing bone marrow/stem cell transplant therapy and provides primary leukemia management.

George Schobloher, lead architect, Howell Rusk Dobson, say that, due to the nature of the space, it was important to select a product that looked good and could be easily cleaned. “Vistamatic’s products not only have a clean and modern look, they offer hands free operation of the panels from both sides and the narrow profile of the windows fits perfectly into our doors,” Schobloher said in the release.

Vistamatic vision panels consist of three sheets of glass set within an insulating unit, operatedwith Vistamatic’s propriety lever mechanism. When the lever is turned, the inner sheet of glass rise to enable observation and, by turning the handle back, vision is obscured.
