The Glass Association of North America, Topeka, Kan., today announced the release of a one-sheet document from its Climate Change Committee that outlines viewpoints from the flat glass industry in regards to possible climate change legislation, according to a June 24 release. Such legislation would be enacted to lower the number of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.

"Climate change legislation could gravely damage flat glass manufacturers if the concerns in this position paper are unheeded," said Bill Yanek, GANA executive vice president, in the release. "We remain confident that our elected and regulatory leaders will listen to our case and craft climate change legislation that does not damage flat glass manufacturing during these challenging economic times."

The Climate Change Committee is a part of the GANA Flat Glass Manufacturing Division. "The FGMD invested a significant amount of time and effort into this concise summary of [its]position on climate change legislation," Yanek said in the release. "This industry consensus position communicates to elected and regulatory decision makers the concerns of the flat glass industry with regard to climate change legislation."

The one-sheet may be downloaded from the GANA: Energy Web site.
