Post Time:Nov 06,2008Classify:Industry NewsView:206

The Auto Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council introduced its “Code of Ethics” at the 2008 International Auto Glass Safety Conference in Las Vegas Nov. 5. The purpose of the code is to define accepted/acceptable behaviors; promote high standards of practice; provide a benchmark for members to use for self-evaluation; establish a framework for professional behavior and responsibilities; and establish a vehicle for professional identity and a mark of professional maturity, said Jean Pero, AGRSS council member and sales manager for Mygrant Glass, Denver.

The following preliminary rules of conduct and ethics apply to all AGRSS-registered companies and members, including but not limited to auto glass technicians, management and ownership:• Adhere to the ANSI/AGRSS approved auto glass replacement safety standards

• Promote to others and support the ANSI/AGRSS standards and practices

• Fully support the AGRSS programs designed to promote compliance with the ANSI/AGRSS standard, including its third-party audit process

• Be fully aware of and abide by the federal, state and local legal requirements governing the operations of auto glass replacement shops

• Promptly fulfill contractual obligations

• Recognize the responsibility to take appropriate steps to encourage other glass shops to continue to adhere to the ANSI/AGRSS standard.
