Fenzi China Paints and Sealants Co., established in June 2006,received an award from the Safety Bureau of Jiaxing for manufacturing safety. The Xhiuzhou district also acknowledged the company for being the most competitive in the industrial district, according to a Fenzi release, May 14. “To protect and reinforce our market leadership we decided to start production in China,” says Alessandro Fenzi, director, Fenzi Group, Italy. “Today, producing in China is the only way to be able to follow the Chinese market in a successful way.” The company has been active with mirror paints in Asia since the late 1970s, he says. “We have been the first to export into China when this market opened up and we have been market leaders since then.” Fenzi manufactures and distributes its Duralux range of mirror paints in China and has acquired a large share of the Asian market. “The plant in Jiaxing has been designed to be the basis in China for all our products: mirror backing paints, ceramic paints and insulating glass sealants,” Fenzi says. Looking forward, the company will increase its investments in China because Fenzi confirms that he sees good opportunities for the group there. “We are aiming to achieve all-round growth and development and we are uniquely positioned to do this,” said Stefano Pozzi, general manager, Fenzi China Paints and Sealants. “China is a difficult country to get to know really well because it is extremely multifaceted, and this is also reflected in the economic life of the entire country. The Chinese market is very complex, but our sector is definitely growing. So, I’m optimistic about 2008 and I believe it will be a very good year.” By Sahely Mukerji, Managing Editor of Glass Magazine and AutoGlass
