DuPont acidic cleaner bottles recalled

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and DuPont on Tuesday announced a voluntary recall of about 20,000 heavy duty acidic cleaner bottles.

When the bottle is full or nearly full of acidic cleaner and stored in elevated temperatures over an extended period of time, the cleaner can leak underneath the cap. The cleaner, when it comes into contact with skin, can cause severe irritation.

Customers can contact DuPont to receive free replacement bottle caps.

The products were sold at Lowe's stores between March 2008 and October 2008 for about $7.
