BOE Technology Group Co Ltd<000725><200725>, China's top supplier of display devices, confirmed it is in talks with the Beijing municipal government to build an eighth-generation TFT-LCD production line in the capital city, sources reported.
The discussions were still preliminary and no final agreement has been reached. The total investment of the production line is estimated to be RMB 28 billion to RMB 30 billion, according to the company's statement filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
In October, the company has set up a joint venture (JV) with Hefei Construction Investment and Holding Co and the Hefei Xincheng State-owned Assets Management Co. The JV is mainly engaged in R&D, production and sales of the six-generation TFT-LCD displays and modules in Hefei, Anhui province.
A-shares of the Shenzhen-listed company surged 9.93% to RMB 3.21 on Friday.
