Taiwan Glass’s photovoltaic glass project settles in Zhangpu, Fujian

Taiwan Glass Ind Corp., the Top 10 glassmaker in the world, has settled its USD 140-million photovoltaic glass project in Zhangpu, Fujian. It is the first large Taiwaness-owned project in Zhangzhou City since the implementation of “Big Three Links”.

The photovoltaic glass project adopts Pilkington’s float glass production technology and builds production lines for the newest glass products such as ultra-white patterned glass, tinted glass and high-grade on-line coated glass. Within 12-14 months, the project will be completed to produce 50,000 tons of ultra-white patterned glass and photovoltaic glass every year, which equals to the value of 200,000 tons of float glass. 30% of the glass will be exported to Europe and America and 70% will be sold in China Mainland. It is evaluated that each production line will create an annual output value at 500 million yuan.

So far, Taiwan Glass owns totally 10 float glass lines and 1 photovoltaic glass line in the mainland and the Taiwan region.
