LG Electronics to unveil new LCD panel next month

LG Electronics Co., South Korea's No. 2 consumer electronics maker, said Monday that it will launch a newly developed super slim liquid-crystal display (LCD) monitor next month.

The company said in a statement that the world's thinnest 24-inch LCD model, which is powered by an ultra-thin LED backlight, will be unveiled at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the world's largest home electronics fair, in January.

Featuring a contrast ratio of 1 million to 1, the super slim LCD monitor has a response time of 2 milliseconds, the company said.
