The German company KMB Klebetechnik has developed an entirely new edge protection tape specifically designed for the production of multilayer glass panes and fire-resistant glass panes. The now patented K-Aludense system consists of a PE foam base with an applied acrylate adhesive, making it quick and clean to work with.
K-Aludense provides outstanding resistance to moisture and permanent sealing of multilayer and fire-resistant glass panes. The adhesive strength of the tape is high and builds up rapidly. Furthermore its UV- and weather-resistant material maintains its consistency over a long period of time. It is not possible to "bleed through" the adhesive.
A welcome side effect is the ability of the foam base to correct any minor unevenness and protect the edges of the panes against damage thanks to its impact-damping properties.
