Zhangzhou Qibin Glass Co., Ltd. (Qibin Glass) started operating its float glass production line in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, on February 10, 2009.
The production line is able to melt 900 tons of glass per day, providing products widely used in construction, furniture, automobile and optic instrument, according to the Zhangzhou glassmaker.
With a total investment of CNY 3.72 billion, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value of CNY 10 billion after it is fully operated.
Notably, Qibin Glass, which input CNY 1 billion into the project in 2008, plans to invest additional CNY 1.5 billion this year to set up four supporting projects around the existing plant, making the project the biggest high-end glass production base in South China.
Qibin Glass will expand its sales network to broaden its presence at home and abroad, part of its efforts to ride out the lingering global financial crisis.
