SVA (Group) Co., Ltd. is preparing to build an advanced 8G TFT LCD (thin-film transistor liquid crystal display) panel production line, said the Shanghai-headquartered LCD panel maker on February 25.
SVA is contacting with some international companies for possible tie-ups but has not clinched any cooperation yet, according to the company, denying the recently report that SVA would join hands with Japan-based electronics maker Sharp Corporation to set up a 6G LCD production line.
The 8G line is designed to ship more than 60,000 large-sized panels a month, and over 50% of the products will be sold abroad, added SVA, noting that the company will raise tens of billions of renminbi from its shareholders and other investors for the to-be-built production line.
Notably, the Shanghai LCD panel maker has set up a flat panel technical development platform and is considering recruiting some talents, in a bid to boost the project in terms of technology.
