Forma Glas is launching a new automatic crack-off machine for tumbler and stem ware products and has a special machine design available for big items up to 300mm diameter and a wall thickness up to 7mm.

Forma Glas works annually to improve the machines to offer the best to their customers with the best quality of the new generation machines to support the existing production lines. Continuing the company’s development to become an all-in-one supplier because by now Forma Glas can provide several kinds of presses, high end blowing machines, stem stretching equipment, flame polishing systems, conveyor belts, cracking-off machines with laser and tableware control systems. Thereby the company can now provide several machineries necessary for high-end tableware production, except for furnaces.

This year Forma Glas is launching a new automatic crack-off machine for tumbler and stemware products and has a special machine design available for big items up to 300mm diameter and a wall thickness up to 7mm. A great advantage is also the flexibles mounting off grinding and seaming stations with single, double and triple loading system. The capacity is up to 70.000 glasses per day with affordable refill costs for laser.

Due to the modular design of the ASA it is possible to offer the laser system also as a stand-alone laser module.

The company currently uses closed 200 Watt CO2 lasers with up to three years’ lifetime (around 25,000 hours) for single, double and triple laser systems. The Stand-Alone Laser Module cracks of the caps at the cold end and is suitable to all known crack-off machines at the cold end and will replace the thermal shock process (burner). The machine can work with glasses with up to 7mm wall thickness and up to 65 pcs per minute (depending on the laser system). The result is a reduction in waste down to 3%.

In addition to the new ASA and in cooperation with external experts, Forma Glas recently put into operation the first fully automatic system called TCS (tableware control system) for high quality table ware because a manual quality control of tableware products always used to be a high expenditure for all glass manufacturers. In the last eight months eight systems have been installed by different customers.
