The establishment of a $200 million glass factory in Maan Governorate was suspended due to the global financial crisis, according to Yaseen Jweihan, the factory's executive director.
In a statement yesterday, Jweihan said that the establishment of the plant was scheduled to start at the end of last year, but was postponed due to the economic rescession, noting that the contracting companies will convene next month to set a new date for the project's implementation.
The factory is financed by the Qatari-based Al Rimal Glass Company and the Jordan Armed Forces in cooperation with a German engineering consultant.
