A meeting between the management board of the International Commission on Glass (ICG) and representatives from the Chinese Ceramic Society (CCS) was held in Shanghai, China in a bid to intensify the co-operation between the two organisations.
The meeting, which took place at the China Triumph International Engineering Co (CTIEC) towards the end of 2008, allowed both organisations to present their respective backgrounds and activities, as well as to share and exchange information.
Hervè Arribart introduced the ICG as a non-profit international association of national scientific and technical organisations, while Juanrong Ma from the China Building Materials Academy explained how the glass sub-committee of the CCS conducts both academic and technological activities and organises seminars at different levels.
It was concluded at the end of the meeting that the exchange between the two parties would be intensified and, in particular, communication between the ICG technical committees and the CCS sub-committees would be strengthened. It was also announced that the ICG Annual Meeting 2011 is to be held in Shenzhen, Guandong Province.
