Companies are showing how they’re innovating and modernizing at GlassBuild America. The show runs from September 12-14, 2018 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Hardware companies are updating their projects offerings to be more electric, ADA compliant and aesthetically pleasing.

Quality Enclosures is displaying its Double Glide and Duet Bypass shower door hardware systems at GlassBuild America.

Access Hardware Supply displayed the Adams Rite EX series panic device which has been redesigned to meet updated standards. The company also has Security Door Controls’ Auto EntryControl, a low-energy operator that meets California’s more stringent ADA standards.

Brian Avants, western regional sales manager, said he believes other states will follow California in upgrading their ADA codes.

The company plans to open a new online store later this year.

Wagner is going after the residential market with its PanelGrip glass railing system. The railing can hold glass with thicknesses between ½ to ¾ inches without the system having to change.

Security Door Controls’ Auto EntryControl and Z7600 motorized latch retraction Mortise locksets are on display at GlassBuild America.

At the Quality Enclosures booth its evident that all-glass shower doors with minimal hardware continues to be a popular trend. The company is displaying its Double Glide and Duet Bypass door hardware.

According to Charlie Layne, director of customer relations, Quality Enclosures has invested in two FuseCubes from DFI Solutions. He said that the company’s customers currently upsell the coating, but he expects it to eventually come standard on shower doors, especially in states such as Florida where there is more hard water.

Security Door Controls (SDC) has electric hardware such as the Z7600 Mortise locksets. The motorize latch retraction lockset works in conjunction with an automatic door operator. It ensures that the door stays latched even when de-energized to maintain fire door integrity.

The company is also promoting its LR100 series electric latch retraction kit. The retrofit product can turn a mechanical door into an electric door, giving building operators the ability to integrate a panic device with a timer to make locking the doors more efficient, according to Hunter VanHulzen, factory sales support.

He said that if the kit isn’t compatible with a certain panic device, the customer can inform the company and the electric latch can be made compatible in weeks.

Select Hinges’ all through-wire (ATW) electrified hinge gives installers access to wiring without having to drop the door, according to Chris Orme, regional sales manager. It could be used storefront aluminum doors with electrified hardware. Orme said the ATW hinge could even be used for dynamic glass.

“The whole industry is moving toward electric hardware,” said Orme.
