New frame bending robot: Competence in the field of "Warm edge technology"

After the delivery of five frame bending robots to one customer, Bystronic glass proves its competence in the manufacturing of machines for the production of insulating glass units with thermally optimized "Warm edge" spacer systems. The spacerbender MULTI with a new, height-adjustable transport rail allows bending of stainless steel, steel and aluminium as well as a variety of plastic spacers.

Thanks to the machine’s newly designed transport beam, bending of Thermix profiles can now be carried out without any problems – with Thermix material, the edges must be bent quite radically to achieve the desired angle. A vertically travelling functional rail on the spacerbender MULTI lowers the working level and prevents the Thermix profile from colliding with the transport rail during the bending of the last edge. Another new feature improves handling: Through direct access, a change of the bending tool for stainless steel profiles with different widths can be achieved with even more speed and more ergonomically. Thermix and TGI profiles of different widths can be bent with a single tool. During a material change, permanently stored data catalogues ensure bending results of a constantly high quality and minimise the adjustment effort for the operator.
