Output of glass products from Jan. to Apr.

According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to April, the outputs of flat glass, hollow glass, daily glass and glass fiber yarn increased year-on-year (YoY), while the outputs of tempered glass, laminated glass and glass container declined.

The output of flat glass amounted to 181,798,500 weight cases, up 0.93%, in which the output in April was 46,452,900 weight cases, up 3.08%, accounting for 25.55% of the total output during the period from January to April.

Besides, The outputs of hollow glass, daily glass and glass fiber yarn from January to April respectively amounted to 7,387,700 square meters, 3,521,000 tons and 953,100 tons, increased by 4.99%, 1.09% and 24.58% YoY. In April, the output of daily glass was 870,000 tons, down 4.54%. Comparing the output in February, March and April, it declined monthly.

The outputs of tempered glass, laminated glass and glass container declined during the period from January to April, among which output of glass container fell the most, by 24.37%. Analysts said that the rapid growth of outputs in February and March led to soar of storages, and companies reduced production in April to cut storages. That’s why outputs declined. The outputs of tempered glass and laminated glass were respectively 37,124,800 square meters and 9,052,700 square meters, down 13.50% and 5.70% YoY. However, the outputs of these two products both increased in April, which indicated that the markets of these products were recovering.

For the trend of market demand from January to April, the outputs markedly improved in April. Analysts stated that it was a sign of economy recovery and predicted that the market will be much better in the next few months.
