The Department of Energy (DOE) and the global industry association SEMI will host a joint workshop in July to discuss the development of a global PV industry roadmap. “Photovoltaic Industry Roadmaps from the Supply Chain Perspective: Opportunities through Collaboration” will solicit input from SEMI members and other stakeholders with the potential of building a roadmap for manufacturers in the PV industry supply chain. Organizers say this will increase the operational efficiency of the industry and drive down system prices.
Speakers will discuss PV roadmap experiences in the United States and other countries and highlight key lessons from roadmap models from other industries. Participants will then split into breakout groups to gather input from PV manufacturers and supply chain partners, discuss potential roadmap models and develop next steps.
The event will be held Sunday, July 12, 2009 from 1:00 pm-5:00 p.m. at the Intercontinental San Francisco. There is no charge to attend, but space is limited. For more information, please contact Coryne Tasca, Contractor to the DOE Solar Energy Technologies Program at
