Saint-Gobain organized its second innovation competition at the European Research and Innovation Exhibition. The nine start-up finalists fought it out in a "speed-dating" session to gain the approval of the panel of judges comprised of Company senior executives and chaired by Pierre-André de Chalendar, CEO, Saint-Gobain.
The three winning start-ups each received a prize of 15,000 euros, and will work with the team at NOVA External Venturing to form a technological (co-development or license agreement) and/or commercial (integration in a system, or a production and/or distribution agreement) partnership. NOVA External Venturing is a Saint-Gobain entity set up to create strategic partnerships between the Company and start-ups.
The jury singled out a winner for each of the three competition categories: habitat, energy and the environment, based on the quality and originality of their project:
The 2009 Habitat Award went to M-Therm.
The 2009 Energy Award was won by TVP Solar.
The 2009 Environment Award was won by Shark Solutions.
