Glass plant in N Hungary fails to pay gas bills, suffers temporary downtime

Production is suffering a temporary halt at a long-established glass manufacturing plant operated by of R-Glass Hungary in Salgótarján due to a dispute with the factory´s natural gas supplier, wire service MTI-Eco reported. The plant´s contract with energy company Emfesz expired on July 1, and the former partners have not yet been able to reach agreement on overdue gas bills and future cooperation; for this reason Emfesz turned off the tap yesterday morning. R-Glass claims to have received competing bids from 3 other gas suppliers and is therefore expecting to sign a new contract today.
