Post Time:Jul 09,2009Classify:Industry NewsView:273

Ritec returns to GPD (Glass Performance Days) 2009 (12-15 June) with the message that cleaner glass means greener glass. This is the focus and title of the paper to be presented at GPD’s conference by Stephen Byers, Ritec’s Chairman and Managing Director...

‘Cleaner Glass is Greener Glass’ is not just a label, it is a state of mind, says Stephen. In his GPD presentation, he will go on to discuss the reasons why ordinary architectural glass is dirty and not ‘green’, reviews the solutions and considers the advantages of cleaner and greener glass.

Cleaner and greener glass is important in today’s economic climate. It adds value, so glass and glazing companies can benefit from new business opportunities for higher sales and improved profits, even during a business recession. For the end user, it saves time, money and effort as it is easier to clean and keep clean and does not require harsh chemicals to maintain the appearance.

Stephen Byers will also be presenting at the Solar Power - Opportunities for the Glass Industry Workshop. He will present ‘Let the Sunshine in! - Creating Added Value by Maintaining the Energy Conversion Efficiency of Solar Panels’. This discusses the reasons why dirt on the glass of solar energy panels causes significant reductions in efficiency and also the solutions for both new and existing solar panels.

In addition, Ritec International will be at booth number 27 in the exhibition hall. Attendees are invited to the stand to see and discuss the benefits of glass surface protection and the ClearShield System for glass renovation, protection and maintenance. The ClearShield System has been in use globally for almost 30 years on all kinds of glass applications, include architectural, decorative, shower enclosures, marine, residential and solar panels.

Stephen Byers says, “Ritec is delighted to be playing such a key role at GPD09, which attracts major players and decision makers of the glass industry worldwide. We see this as a great opportunity to increase awareness of the need for glass surface protection and its benefits. The ClearShield System that creates Greener Glass greatly reduces or eliminates the problems caused by unprotected glass. For glass and glazing companies, this creates new business opportunities with higher sales and profits.”
