On Nov.4, 2002, China signed China - the ASEAN Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation with ASEAN. In the agreement, China and the ASEAN agreed to establish CAFTA. In 2009, the ASEAN countries lowed down tariffs of glass import from China. The tariffs in China or in ASEAN will be reduced to zero in 2010. At present, Singapore has carried out zero-tariff policy to Chinese glass and glass products. Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia have reduced the import tariff to zero or 5%. Lowing tariff or achieving zero-tariff will be good for reducing product cost, strengthening product competitiveness and enlarge the market.
