TSMT expected to see record revenues in October

LCD SMT solutions provider Taiwan Surface Mounting Technology (TSMT), due to growing orders from AU Optronics (AUO) and increasing demand for LED light bars used in LED TVs, will see its revenues climb to a record of NT$3.5 billion (US$106 million) in October, according to market observers.

Due to tight glass substrate supply, TSMT's revenues may only increase by 5% in July and August, but the company expects glass substrate supply to ease in September, the sources said.

The sources estimate that TSMT's third-quarter revenues will increase over 10% sequentially, and will ship 4.5 million LED light bars in July, five million units in August and over six million units in September 2009, which is better than TSMT's estimation of four million units in monthly shipments for the third quarter.
