BenQ Launches 7 New LCD TVs to Tap Taiwanese Market

Taipei, Aug. 3, 2009 (CENS)--With consumer demand recovering more rapidly than expected, BenQ Corp., a leading Taiwanese LCD TV brand, debuted 7 new own-brand models recently, in a bid to boost its market share and rank among the top-two brands in the domestic market this year.

BenQ indicated that its full HD large-screen LCD TVs have enjoyed hot sales in Taiwan, especially the 42-inch model, which has been the hottest-seller for several months in terms of monthly sales ranking in the market this year. For instance, iBuzz`s market survey showed that the brand`s 42-inch SH4242 series ranked No. 1 in July.

To further ride on the market boom, the brand hence has decided to debut the 7 new LCD TVs, including 3 full HD 120Hz models, a 52-inch, 46-inch and 42-inch HDMI 1.3 models, and a 37-inch full HD model, to build a full line of full HD LCD TVs with screen sizes from 32 to 52 inches.

In fact, some reports released by market survey institutes show that scale of the global market for 120Hz large-screen LCD TVs is rapidly growing, with shipment value of such models to contribute 29% of the total this year. Some insiders even expect a double-digit growth rate in retail sales of LCD TVs in the second half of this year over the first half.

At present, BenQ has seen its supply lag behind demand, with production lines of own-brand LCD TVs fully booked. The brand noted that the current achievement in the market must be attributed to its consistent dedication to development of vision technologies, which secure excellent quality of its LCD TVs.
