Panel factory: optimistic about the market, hoarding glass substrate

The panel industry is now in the traditional off-season, but many factories saw the Q3 market and were worried about the supply of important parts in the second half of 2009, so they purchased glass substrate in advance ( raw materials of liquid crystal panels). As a result, recently there is lack of 5G or 6G glass substrate about 20%.

Some trade personages pointed out that components in short were including Driver, IC, PCB, LED backlight module and the glass substrate. For the glass substrate, 5G 0.5t glass substrate was in short supply apparently. 6G glass substrate was still in short supply because it was used in many aspects such as LCD monitor panels and TV panels.

Besides, panel industry accidentally turned out a prosperous market in low season in the first half of 2009. panel factories all began to hoard glass substrate for the second half year market. But glass substrate factories still kept cautious attitude to the global economy and afraid to rapidly expand production capacity. That was an another reason that the supply of glass substrate appeared gap.
