The first TFT-LCD project was located in Kunshan, Jiangsu

On September 12, the first national ratified TFT-LCD project started to construction in Industrial Park, Kunshan Development Zone, Jiangsu. This project was the landmark project which marked that our country’s flat panel display industry began to change the model and upgrade. After the project is completed, China's large-size LCD display panel will end the situation of totally depending on imported.

The total investment of the project was 3.3 billion dollar and the products covered 32-52 inches different specifications of large-size LCD television screens and personal desktop computers and module panel. It was planned to be put into production in 2010. the annual production capacity will reach 12.77 million LCD TVs and the annual output value would be 50 billion yuan.
