Fulltech Fiber Glass and Glotech Industrial both have indicated demand for fiber glass yarn and fabrics from the PCB market has been improving since the second quarter of 2009 and utilization rates at their plants are almost full. Product prices have also been raised, driving both companies' revenues in August, and the two companies expect average selling prices (ASPs) and revenues to continue rising in the fourth quarter amid increasing demand.

Glotech's August consolidated revenues grew 31.32% on month and 62.83% on year to NT$201 million (US$6.16 million), while Fulltech saw record revenues of almost NT$200 million for August, up 8% sequentially.

Fulltech noted that the current price of glass yarn has climbed to US$1.2 per kilogram from less than US$1 in the first quarter, and the price of glass fabrics has also increased from US$4 to US$5. The company plans to build a new furnace in the second quarter of 2010, adding a yearly capacity of 38,000 tons to its current 36,000 tons.
