Taiwan Glass Group invested 1.1 billion to establish Soda Ash Project in Huai’an

As one of the ten largest float glass manufacturers in the world, Taiwan Glass Group invested 1.1 billion to establish 1 million tons/year Soda ash project in Huai’an, Jiangsu Province. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on the morning of Sep.27, 2009.

Taiwan Glass Group carried out this project in order to make sure the supply of soda ash-the main material of glass with the advantage of abundant mineral resources in Huai’an. So the Group undertook this wholly-owned construction.

The total investment reached 1.14 billion U.S. dollars, the first phrase was 600 million U.S. dollars, the registered capital of 400 million U.S. dollars. The capacity of soda ash and Chloride devices was 1 million tons/year with 1.2 million ton/year salprunella devices. The soda ash device and vacuum salt device all reached the national max level of the capacity. The project was intended to be finished in 4Q 2011 and the annual turnover would be 3 billion yuan.

Since 1993, Taiwan Glass Group has began to invest in mainland. Now, it has owned plants in Kunshan, Jiangsu, Qingdao, Chengdu and other places.
