Sharp: the G10 LCD panel factory formally put into operation

Recently, Japan's Sharp Corporation has announced that the G10 LCD panel factory was formally put into operation on Oct.1. The factory was named “Sharp Green Front Sakai”, located in Sakai City, Japan.

The factory was the first one to use the G10 LCD panel. The size is 2880×3130mm. And the technology is UV2A optical alignment technique (ASV alternative technologies) developed by Sharp. When simplifying the production process, the technology also improve panel contrast ratio, response time and energy-saving performance. The factory is specialized in the production of 40-inch LCD panel. Initial production monthly capacity is 36000 glass substrates and will reach 72000 every month in the end. Besides LCD pane, the factory will produce thin-film solar cells and will be put into production in March next year.

The total construction area of the factory is 1.27 million square meters. light source all use LED. In the future, the factory will install solar panels on the roof to partly afford the power supply and carries out the policy of energy-saving environmental protection, which is also the reason why the factory is named “Green Front”.
