Duranar Powder Coatings by PPG Industries earned a 2009 R&D 100 Award. According to the company announcement, the award recognizes the 100 most technologically significant products introduced in the past year as selected by an independent judging panel and editors of R&D Magazine.
PPG and the Duranar powder coatings team ― Ron Ambrose, Kristin Bartlett, Dennis Carson (deceased), Tony Chasser, Carol Jackson, Henry Lowman, Steven Sternberger and Howard Wright ― will be recognized for their achievement during an awards banquet taking place November 12, 2009. The Duranar powder coatings team was also a runner-up for a 2009 PPG Innova Award.
"Because of their performance characteristics, cost and energy savings, Duranar powder coatings have the potential to revolutionize architectural coatings in a way that benefits both the building industry and the environment," says Henry L. Lowman, PPG global director of extrusion coatings.
