DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions Describes Bullet-Resistant Laminate Designs

DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions announced publication of new online information about laminated safety glass that has been tested to meet international bullet-resistant glazing (BRG) test standards. A new technical bulletin describes laminated glass constructions made with the company's SentryGlas®, Spallshield® and Butacite® laminating materials.

According to a company announcement, test standards referenced in the bulletin include: Underwriter's Laboratories (UL) Standard 752, Standard for Bullet Resisting Equipment; National Institute of Justice -- NIJ 0108.01, Ballistic Resistant Protective Materials; and Europe's EN 1063, Glass in Building. Tables are presented showing threat levels defined in each standard, along with designs (including glass thicknesses) that have been laminated and successfully tested to meet the standards.
